Program Committee Announces
"One
Meal Is a Big Deal!"
Florida PTA Members,
We are quickly winding down our
activities in our regions, counties and local units as we prepare for
the summer. However, given these tough economic times, we realize that
once our schools close, some of our children in Florida will not receive
the one meal they count on each day --- lunch. A recent Orlando
newspaper article has also indicated how many more children/families are
homeless this year than in the past. Please note the attached
flier that submits to you how we, who are concerned
about all children, may participate in efforts to address the needs of
these children during the summer months. Please get the word out and
urge local PTAs to check as to how they can coordinate with local
assistance organizations or schools who may already be planning to
address this need during the summer. Let's remind them that...they
can always count on PTA to help a child!
